Our Lady of Lourdes

Refered to as the Statue of Mary, the Statue of Our Lady of Lourdes with her illuminated halo keeps a constant vigil from high on the hill behind Paraparaumu. She stands 14 metres tall.

These Geckos reside on my bathroom wall. I thought they were awesome when I saw them and hence had to have them.

Petal had dancing today, I took so many pictures but unfortunately most of them are no good. This was about the best one there was. Rosie is in the back row on the left.

Our puppy dog. Well actually she's no longer a puppy she's nearly 3. She is a huntaway border collie cross. She has a lovely friendly nature.

Petal ran and leaped into grandad's arms tonight. She can't wait for Thursday nights as that's when grandad visits.

Tui Billboard

.

These billboards are scattered around the country, they all say something different. Another example is "Ask the blonde, she's in charge". Tui is a New Zealand beer.

Little Miss Flexible

.

Petal is hypermobile (double jointed). The specialist was actually laughing at how flexible she is. Here is a wee example of what she can do.

Drummer Boy

.

Drummer Boy is the drummer from Hybrid (Slash's Band). They had a gig today and he played at the with an injured right arm (squashed bone, wasn't allowed to bend his arm). You can see from his expression that he could feel the pain.

Skateboarding

Slash practising his skateboarding techniques. He is getting better thank goodness. Too many more injuries and it would have been an out of bounds hobby.

Falling Down Barn

We pass this barn on our way home from work everyday. It was standing in one piece until a couple of weeks ago when the front of it collapsed.

Wellington Railway Station

.

This is a view of the front of the railway station shrouded in blue netting while they do renovations. Believe it or not but this was actually taken at a rather busy time of day (5 pm) but somehow I managed to get a shot with very few people in it.

Kapiti Coast

This is a view of the Kapiti Coast from midway down the Paekakariki Hill road. It show's how Raumati and Paraparaumu are out on the point so to speak. In the middle of it all is Paraparaumu Airport.

Mr of the house arrived back from Auckland early this evening. This is a shot of his plane taken from a nearby service station.

Wellington Air Traffic Control Tower

This is one of only two in the world that are on a residential street. Normally they are on Airport Land.

Slash did these pieces of art when he was about 9 years old. The top piece was put in a display at the Michael Fowler Centre in Wellington NZ.

The are now on display in our living room.

The Daily Commute

A small peak into my world of commuting. This is a very common view for me, the peak hour traffic heading into Wellington city. It's basically a bumper to bumper crawl at this point in the trip.
